Strategy and Fund Description
SEP offered its fourth private equity fund-of-funds to the family in early 2013. Overall, 30 family members joined together to commit $6,100,000 to this program. This was split evenly between Portfolio Advisors Private Equity Fund VII (“PAPEF VII”) and Portfolio Advisors Secondary Fund II (“PASF II”).
The two underlying fund-of-funds are similar to SEP’s previous investments with Portfolio Advisors. PAPEF VII invests in new buyout, venture and special situation funds. PASF II purchases older funds, sometimes from distressed sellers, but always at a discount.
